Fantastic dealership to buy from. They were very upfront straightforward. The car was exactly as represented. They provide provided me the Carfax right upfront. There was nothing Hidden. If I could give them 6 stars I would. I had “D” help me out and he got me into a beautiful bmw x5 that I couldn’t be happier with. They treat customers right, are very open and honest about what they are selling you, and have my car ready the same day! He even gave me a free car wash and filled my tank before I left for home! Overall excellent dealership, I could not recommend them enough, they were very pleasant to talk to the whole time and they really helped me out. 10/10 would recommend to anyone in the market for a used car! These guys are the best!!

Elmin The crew went out of their way to help my husband and I by our new summer ride a 2021 Jeep Wrangler. We drove 5 and 1/2 hours from the State of Maine. Realizing the distance they kept the vehicle off the lot until we arrived. Super nice people and very easy to deal with. I would definitely hire really recommend House of C ars Connecticut

I'm thrilled with the car we purchased and the service we received. And the care that was put in to a first time car purchase by my teen! I was wary of using what I perceived as a used car lot rather than an established big dealership, but this is actually a small independent dealership and not a stereotypical used car lot. While at Harte Volkswagen down the street, they were pushy? Salesly and felt like used car salesmen when attempted to paint HoC as "shady" and "dangerous" to try to convince me to buy they're lesser-than car. I am still annoyed by that, and I'll never shop there. In fact, I walked out of Harte and went right to HoC and signed the paperwork after that. They also bought us 4 new tires and a new high end stereo at no additional cost. They're a one-stop shop, too, who takes care of registering the vehicle. The car itself is immaculate, runs perfectly, was as advertised, and was priced slightly better than comparable cars at other dealerships. Elmin, our salesman, was fantastic, personable, and patient. I'm tough to please, and here I am giving a 5 star review. Go figure.

I found House of Cars in Meriden, CT through Edmunds.com while searching for a specific vehicle. After a terrible experience at a used car dealership in Ansonia, I was honestly bracing for the worst. But the difference here was night and day. Norbert was professional, respectful, and knowledgeable. He answered all my questions without the usual pushy or scripted sales tactics. It is clear they genuinely care about the quality of the cars and making sure buyers feel confident in their purchase. The conveyance fee was standard, and there were no surprise add-ons or hidden charges. Warranties were available but not forced on me. The car I purchased is 10 years old and in excellent condition. My only feedback would be to improve communication and follow-ups during the process. That said, I understand they’re a busy operation and I didn’t feel neglected, just could’ve used a bit more clarity at times. All in all, this was the only dealership where I didn’t get that gut feeling to walk away. I’m very happy with my purchase and would absolutely recommend Norbert and House of Cars to anyone looking for a solid used vehicle. *** UPDATE*** PLEASE READ*** I’m extremely concerned and disappointed. I was told the brake pads and rotors were replaced on the vehicle I purchased, but six months later I was informed by a repair shop that the rotors are severely damaged and the brakes are unsafe. Brake pads and rotors typically last 30,000–70,000 miles, and I did not come close to that mileage during this time. Based on the condition of the brakes, it raises serious questions about whether the work I was told was completed actually was. This was a dangerous situation, and I’m grateful nothing happened before it was caught. I would strongly caution others to independently verify any work claimed before relying on it.

They got back to me the next day, I went & looked at a car with a certain amount of money. Al was able to help me out with my budget, thankfully. I cannot recommend this dealership enough! My mom just recently bought a car from this place; she has been in search of a new car after a bad accident, and it’s like this place landed in our laps during a time we were going to give up. We saw a beautiful ford on the lot, we came in the next day, were walked through the process, deposit put down and were provided guidance through the whole process. Staff was so welcoming, helpful and informative. They didn't force you to buy but gave you all the options to help fine the car for you. As for processing that was a breeze cause they respect your time so everything was ready and waiting to get you out the door... the guys that assisted me was Milo an Al, really two amazing guys. So it’s been about 6 years since i purchased my 2015 Toyota corolla. I have had no issues and when a tire light came on it was addressed right away. I would say it would have been nice to have a full tank of gas or even half because I had to go right to the gas station. Sometimes it’s the little things that make an impact. The car was below market value and definitely living up to my standards. So grateful to have found my car through them. I also had my personal mechanic check the car before purchase and he gave me the green light. They gave me no push back with this inspection. It’s always best to get your mechanics approval and get the car fax gotta protect your self.

Just purchased a 2013 Jaguar XF with the help of Milo and the team at HofC. From start to finish it was hassle free. Milo went out of his way to make sure I was happy with everything due to buying from out of state. He then worked with me to make sure the vehicle found its way onto a transporter and got to me safely. Car needs a little love in certain areas but this is to be expected from an 11 yr old car. There was never any pressure from HofC and I would definitely recommend based on what I have experienced thus far. Will use again in the future if the need arises. Thanks guys

Al was absolutely fantastic. He was easy to communicate with, extremely helpful (as this was my first vehicle purchase on my own) so I was very nervous and had lots of questions. House of cars is amazing!! I bought a BMW X1 back in March of this year after getting into a terrible accident. I was super nervous about getting a new car but house of cars made it such a great experience and made me feel comfortable. This car is absolutely beautiful car and the service here is outstanding. Christian is a great salesman’s. He will tell you straight up what it is and i appreciated that as a first time car buyer. No trick, no gimmicks. This dealership will not play you. They will truly help you get in the car you want and at a great price. I walked in with a set amount of what i wanted to pay and ended up paying less than what i expected to! I have almost zero experience acquiring a previously owned automobile. I was lucky to find something pretty close to what I wanted as well as being assisted by Christian Hernandez at HOC. Christian answered my questions and was straightforward if he didn’t have an answer. The closing was simple and I’m enjoying my purchase. Though my experience is limited, I’ve known many people who have told me some pretty negative stories regarding buying automobiles. 5/5 recommend anyone to purchase a vehicle from House of Cars! I found this vehicle listed online, inquired, and checked it out same day. Upon arrival (an hour and a half drive), Cristian came outside and greeted me and knew exactly what I was here for. He allowed me to test drive the vehicle right away and he helped me the whole way when it came to purchasing the vehicle. While looking for a used car I called many Auto Dealerships.Christian at House of Cars, Wallingford, was the only sales person I talked to that was immediately responsive. He told me all the details of car & full disclosure of all costs to expect. Not one other did the same. I am in sales so I have a certain expectation & he exceeded them. No pressure just polite, responsive & respectful! The others took 2-3 days to get back to me. And none told me any of the details Christian did. It’s important to be treated with value. It may be a used car with a lower ticket price but our purchase should still matter. It did at House of Cars! Thanks Christian!

Cristian really helped me out. I was in a pinch and needed a new car to get to and from my job. I waited a while before I wrote this to make sure things were on the up and up. Referred by a good friend, my husband and I bought a Used Dodge Ram Pick up truck from House of Cars a couple of months ago. Back story.... We had always wanted a pick up truck as we love to go on adventures and tend to carry a lot of gear. Since we have never owned one, we really did not know where to start. Eraldo ( hope I spelled it right) was super helpful and steered us to the one that fit our needs as more of a recreational truck . He was never pushy and made us feel comfortable the whole time. Not to mention how they made the process so easy and effortless. Here we are 2 months and 3 adventures later, and this summer has been more fun than ever with no issues. Pretty smooth transaction, was allowed to take it on a test drive alone, look underneath, review the autocheck, read all the fine print associated with the deal and they even tossed on some fresh rear brakes for me at no additional cost. Overall, there was no BS, I knew what I was looking for and they helped me find what I wanted without pushing anything crazy onto me.

I bought a beautiful 2013 Black Cadillac from them with only 13,000 miles for $21,500 Let me tell you this was a great price for such a low mileage car. Their cars are very reasonably priced. When I got it home I immediately noticed the taillight was cracked. I have a severe lung disease and not as aware of things when I’m not feeling well. I called up and immediately got help from Christian and Clyde to fix the light. They are the most honest car place you are ever going to do businesses with. I highly recommend them because that is a very rare trait nowadays.

They had the car I wanted, and we agreed on price before I got there...this was an easy transaction. They would have made 5-stars except the morning I arrived I was told that my car was brought into the shop to have its oil changed, since that was “something” they do for all customers. The car I was buying is notoriously difficult to Chaves the oil so I kind of doubted that was happening. I did take it for a test drive after it came out if the garage and checked the dipstick while on that drive, and it sure looked like old oils to me still. Nonetheless, I was buying the car mostly sight unseen and still wanted the car. If they had not lied about that little treat of the oil change, I would have given them five stars. They buy cars at auction and sell them here...it’s a perfectly fine business model, just don’t expect them to be experts on your particular vehicle and you won’t be let down.

Al was a FANTASTIC dealer. My girlfriend and I literally spent two whole days going to dealerships in NY and CT and met all sorts of bad dealers. When we came here Al took great care of us. Great Experience!! I made an appointment with Al to look at a BMW on his lot that looked clean online. I'd been searching for weeks. I emailed him the night before and the next morning I promptly received an email saying the car was available. I informed Al that I was coming from Jersey and I set out to his place. I pulled into his lot and the car was in the front. As I was walking around the car, a staff member asked if I needed help. I told him that I was waiting for Al. He promptly gave me a set of keys. As I was inspecting the interior, Al walked up with a dealer plate and introduced himself. We briefly spoke about the origin and miles on the car. Al was pleasant and super knowledgeable. We went for a test drive and I couldn't believe how immaculate the car was, inside and out. It thoroughly exceeded my expectations. I'd seen my share of cars that looked good online, but were less than acceptable in person. We got back to the office and discussed price and warranty and I was able to drive home that day!!!! Al even came with me to drop off my rental that I drove up in. The cherry on top was when he filled up the rental and my newly purchased 535i with gas for my drive back to Jersey. Let me start by saying this, Al was a great guy, a great salesman and a great person, unfortunately the car I purchased was not the same. I bought a 6 speed 335xi with 110500 miles on it. I drove the car 2 1/2 hours home from the dealership and the car was great, not even 20 minutes after being home the clutch decides to go. I get the car towed back up to the shop and over a weeks time back and fourth they get a new clutch in there for me, it was a good price and i cant really complain about that, they worked with me and helped me out to get it back on the road. a week later now i get the car up on a lift, and the whole right side above the wheel is pissing fluid. turns out to be a bad strut, so now a week later, already have had to put money in to fix the clutch and such, now am another 1100$ down the drain, not even 2 weeks of owning the car. Buying a used car is always a risk but ive never had the amount of problems ive had with this car in 2 weeks with any other car ive had for months and longer. thanks for reading i hope this helps you decide wether or not your business will go here. Try and have some sort of warranty, none of the issues are Als nor the dealers fault, but cars should be more thoroughly checked before being sold

Had very good experience working with Jon. Decided to buy car we came to see, and price was competitive given used car market is quite tight right now. We had a minor mechanical issue with the car a couple days after buying and Jon made it right and fixed it. Was really easy to work with them. I needed a reliable car for long distance. I spent over 2 weeks looking through Car Guru and other websites. Finally landed on a few House of Cars listings. You can tell from the photos and the detailed work that this place appreciates quality. As soon as I pulled in, my eye caught on to a 2013 VW Passat Diesel fueled mint condition inside and out under 50k mileage. Within 15 min of test driving it, papers were signed and I drove home in my new VW. Owner was very professional and very knowledgeable. No pressure to buy at all. I had a great experience buying a used car from Jon and Al. I had the car inspected by another mechanic before purchasing, and he found a minor problem with the ball bearing. Jon offered to replace the part for free, on top of knocking a few hundred off the purchase price. I felt like I got a pretty fair deal for a good car, and their customer service was great.

A part of my wheel literally broke up the street and my wheel was wonky and barely hanging on enough for me to roll into this business at the end of the day on a Wednesday. Super stressed and with no options the man (John) greeted us and helped us immediately. Ordered the part and fixed my car within 2 days. I would highly recommend this company. I have been to a few different dealerships in the past and this company exceeded my expectations. Elrado was a pleasure to work with. He has great communication, was extremely flexible in considering my situation, and he worked hard to get the deal to close quickly with the creditors even though I had a totaled vehicle with a balance on that loan left over (which made it more difficult). I would recommend this company to friends and family and I would be interested in doing business with them again.

I purchased a 2010 BMW 335i from House of Cars in late August. Due to extenuating circumstances that occurred during our negotiation, they were EXTREMELY understanding and as a result gave me a great deal. I opted to ship the car to Illinois, where it appeared just as provided in the description. I did, however, experience a misfire with the car after driving about 15 miles (a common fault with these cars). Al offered to pay to have any repairs done, but given how generous they were to me, I told them that if it was anything more than a spark plug ($6.00) or an ignition coil ($20) I would consider accepting his offer. After replacing a $20 part I’ve put a number of miles on the car and it now runs smooth as butter. Thank you House of Cars for your understanding and kindness.

House of Cars is a world class auto dealership. I purchased my toyota tacoma with 136000 miles on it. First, my experience with the sales team is like nothing I have experience before. They are willing to listen to alternate offers for the vehicle and met my lower offer. Second, I asked if all recalls were done to the vehicle. They responded by listing all recalls were complete. Additionally, they went on to explain all work completed on the vehicle before it went in the lot to be sold. Okay so I bought a car from this place. I was able to negotiate him down, it's family owned and they all seem nice. However not trustworthy. I don't know why it never occurred to me but I never tested the horn, but apparently it didn't work. He fixed it for free, but he was also willing to sell me a car that he claimed was safe and clearly wasn't. The car also needed an oil change, and the headlights were mismatched. I mean these are little things that would go a long way with used cars.

Purchased a 2009 MINI today and had a wonderful experience. Eraldo, John, Nina, Al and the rest of their team were courteous, friendly and beyond helpful with all our our questions (and we had A LOT). When we noticed the hood wasn't latching just before leaving, they all jumped in to help and when we came back again just after leaving because we noticed a hose that was loose, they immediately put it up on the lift and corrected the issue. They put us at ease and made us feel confident with the car buying process (as well as entertaining our two small boys!). John also let us know that if we had any issues with our NYS inspection, to just give them a call and they'd be happy to fix them. Awesome experience, beyond happy with my purchase, and would highly recommend - totally worth the 2 hour drive from NY :)

Accompanied a good friend here to look at a car. John and everyone else here were extremely friendly and were willing to work with us so we could drive off the lot in said car that day since we had driven 3 hours to look at it. I am typically weary of used car lots but all the staff here were completely transparent about the pros and cons of the car and not trying to hide anything or price gouge us. All in all, top notch place with top notch used cars. Highly recommended!

After doing some research on car prices online, I found a nice 2010 BMW335 that these guys had listed. The car had gone through a checkup, but I brought it to my mechanic to verify that everything is OK, since it is a used car after all. Everything was fine, just as they said. The people were very friendly and professional, and I was very pleased to receive such great service. They even detailed the car for me! I highly recommend this place!
